With that in mind, the HTC U11 Life price of just £349 is very affordable, making it very much a mid-range effort – you can pre-order now.
We have been hearing rumors about the new HTC U11 Life smartphone for some time.
HTC announced its latest smartphone with a $350 price tag and no 3.5 mm headphone jack. Why is the USA market largely missing out? T-Mobile’s $300 sticker makes a strongly compelling case, and I prefer the U11 life to Motorola’s Moto X4.
The U11 Plus comes with a larger screen than its predecessor, at 6.0 inches, with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,880 pixels. “For comparison’s sake, the regular U11 has a 5.5” 2560×1440 screen and a 3000 mAh juice box. It measures 149.09 x 72.9 x 8.1mm and it weighs 142 grams. Underneath it there’s a fingerprint reader and capacitive buttons for back and app-switching. It comes in two variants of 4 GB RAM along with 64 GB internal storage and 6 GB RAM along with 128 GB internal storage. Both those versions also have a microSD slot. The battery supports Quick Charge 3.0 and comes with two power modes which should keep the device running for at least a day.
The HTC U11 Plus may sound like it’s just a larger version of the phone we saw earlier this year, but there are some big changes to the spec and look of the phone too. The company is offering USB Type-C headphones with active noise cancellation.
Like the U-series phones from the company, the U11 Life also features the Liquid Surface design on its rear. The phone will go on sale in Taiwan coming weekend, while Chinese customers will be able to buy the handset from November 11 onwards. Sapphire Blue will be the only color. The Sense version for North America will get 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. The battery is 2,600mAh and the phone has an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. The U11 Plus also comes with an IP68 certified chassis and USonic ear buds in the box. It even supports 24-bit high-res audio.
That’s understandable but the phone still feels nice in the hand and the acrylic is offers much more grip compared to glass and is more likely to fare well in an accidental drop. The frame is also plastic instead of aluminum. The global version seems far superior: it’s an Android One phone, which means it ships with stock Android and no bloatware, and it’s shipping with a newer version of Android-8.0 Oreo! Started out as a BlackBerry addict until he bought HTC’s Droid Eris and never looked back. The slender bezels can not be compared to Samsung and LG’s extreme Galaxy S8 and V30 designs, but they unquestionably are the thinnest that HTC has produced for a very long time.
